The Yalong Bay Mangrove Tree Resort epitomizes a life of exquisite relaxation and enjoyment.
Facing the magnificent endless South China Sea, top design firm Sasaki Associates has designed China’s only true Balinese-style luxury resort. Natural island materials like coconut hull, bamboo and sandalwood are a prominently used decorative motif. These elements combine to give a feeling of being close to nature. The open air lobby, which is connected to a waterfall, is a perfect place to enjoy the stunning sea view. Luxury and a sense of personal sanctuary define the resort’s 502 rooms and suites. The unique design gives nearly 70 percent of the rooms spectacular views of Sanya’s Yalong Bay, while the remaining rooms overlook landscaped gardens and a private laguna. Room windows are designed as wooden frames, through which to view the Yalong scenery as you would an exquisite painting. The antique fan and ventilation systems are miles away from the noisy appliances of city life, complementing Sanya’s comfortable climate. And the bath products in showroom closet also arranged like a seaside scene, with designs bringing to mind a ship’s sail and a carefree fish. A one-night stay in a sea-view room is RMB2,800 plus a 15 percent surcharge.
