Yin and yang
Just as the sun brings life-giving energy, remedial acupressure releases tremendous energy from the body. And, just as night gives our bodies time to repair themselves, traditional Chinese tui na (compression of the areas between joints) restores normal blood and energy flow, bringing the body to balance. This treatment also includes gua sha (which stimulates and dispels “wind and heat” through the skin), using custom-made yin-yang shaped stones to represent masculine and feminine energies.
This therapy is the prefect introduction for those wishing to experience a traditional Chinese medical practice, but delivered in a contemporary and more genteel way. Our gua sha stones have been especially created as our guests personal set of Yin Yang energy stones, the gift of energy……during the treatment, black Chinese style pajamas are worn by male guests, white Chinese style pajamas are worn by female guests to represent the Sun and Moon.
Yin Yang, or the thinking that all forces are interconnected and inter-related provides the framework of much of Chinese scientific thinking, is the basis of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and is the universal symbol of Tai Chi, the ancient Chinese movement and martial art.
Both stones are hand carved from black Bianstone and white nephrite Jade. Bianstone emanates a perpetual magnetic field and infrared pulsation, and is used in many physical healing modalities such as Chinese Gua-sha technique, specifically to expel “wind and heat” from the body, improve blood circulation and activate dormant immune cells. Nephrite Jade is finely grained inter-locking or interwoven mineral crystals with a felt-like texture, said to open the third eye on the way to reaching enlightenment. The imperial seal of China or He Shi Bi was made from white nephrite Jade.
Our massage stones are presented in a commemorative gift box exclusive to Fairmont Peace Hotel for guests to purchase as gifts of energy.
